Application for Early Keyboard Masterclass by Dr Adam Pearl (Peabody Institute)

RAVALEMENT is proudly presenting highly anticipated Early Keyboard Masterclass led by a prominent faculty Dr Adam Pearl, Peabody Institute. This is a rare opportunity for students who are studying early keyboard to bring their artistry to the next level. Masterclass is a part of Historical Keyboard Workshop, which includes Dutch organ builder Mr Niels Klop’s historical keyboard building lecture and organ tuning demonstration as well as Dr Pearl’s performance.

Dr Adam Pearl Masterclass Application Guidance:

Application Fee: application fee for Masterclass is $20. Application fee is not refundable regardless of the selection outcome. Selected Masterclass participants still need to buy a ticket for the Workshop. 

Instruments: Harpsichord or Continuo Organ

Number: Total 4 participants - 2 participants for solo music on Harpsichord and 2 participants for continuo music on Klop continuo organ.

Eligibility: any age of historical keyboard players studying/studied Historically Informed Performance. Participants for continuo masterclass should be comfortable playing from an unrealized bass line with figures. The current Peabody students are not eligible for this workshop.

Selection: Masterclass participants will be selected by audio audition. Participants are expected to submit their audios containing 2 baroque works in contrasting styles. If the participant wishes to play continuo for the masterclass, one of the submission audios should demonstrate continuo playing with another musician (instrumental or vocal).

Submission: submit an application form, a receipt of application fee, and audios to misato@ravalementhistoricalkeyedinstruments.org by March 31st. Outcome of selection will be communicated with all applicants by April 30th. Music that participants need to prepare for the Masterclass will be announce at the same time.
